new identity

thanks to friends in japan, and yuko's great direction, we are testing a new logo!  Thanks Mihoko!!! it seems to capture our mission (connecting groups conveniently) and vibe (friendly, fun, and easy to use!).  what do you think?

meme : ) MIT 100K Submission

we're off and running! meme has seen a busy 2 weeks, and we have now formalized our approach.


memeJ is a busy person’s customized group assistant: a productivity social media tool that finds the best place and time to connect friends, family & acquaintances, maximizing convenience and happiness in order to increase the frequency of face-to-face events.

With a simple user interface, memeJ suggests an optimal group solution by pulling multiple streams of data: availability, location, preferences, best route.   memeJ does all the thinking, and suggesting, just ‘click to connect.’  memeJ allows connecting people to spend time in productive activities, helps people discover new and appropriate places, and most importantly facilitates more ‘cultural transmissions’—the definition of ‘meme.’
market | memeJ’s market is the increasingly busy urban professional who networks for personal and professional reasons, and has little time to maximize efficiency in their calendar.   memeJ pilot will be conducted with the graduate/professional school student population in Cambridge/Boston in April 2013, with a revised launch in the same population for Fall 2013.

busy people are lazy

in defining our target market, we're looking to the very busy people out there who will prefer to not meet rather than spend hours on an email and other services such as doodle, open table, yelp, and hopstop


  • busy professional with an extended network of acquaintances that travels frequently. they may know the area that they are meeting, but not necessarily all of their acquaintances preferences, nor all the various options on where to meet. this person also likes to discover new places, and not worry about whether or not everyone will be happy at that place
  • people working on a multi-disciplinary project team in a university campus that may prefer to meet off campus that is most convenient for all
  • people planning a reunion
